Lakefront Cottage/Cabin Escape to the Seclusion of the Northwoods 3 bedroom cottage/cabin for rent with a 3 night minimum. Located on Van Zile Lake, Newald Wi. Each bedroom has a queen size bed. Sheets, comforters, pillows and pillowcases provided for all 3 beds. All the amenities of home: 48" TV, DVD player, stove, refrigerator, coffee pot and microwave. 1 full bath and one 1/2 bath. Dishes and cookware provided. Grill is a combo gas/charcoal/smoker. Outdoor firepit lakeside. RELAX on the Hammock. Easy access to Forest County snowmobile/ATV trail, drive your sled/ATV right out the driveway. 30 minutes from Ski Brule, Iron River Michigan. Catch bass and pan fish right off the dock. Swimming is best at the public beach - a 2 minute walk out the driveway. Our lake has tannin which makes the lake look dark, which is common in lakes in Northern WI. We do have muck next to our dock, swimming off the dock is okay with a floatie, but as mentioned swimming is best at the beach which is sandy. There are picnic tables at the beach for your use. A lake weed called Watershield surfaced late 2020. This is a native plant, not invasive. Swimming is still good at the beach and boats are navigable. The Van Zile Lake Association is currently working with the DNR on options for removing this plant. Update as of 3/2024, it is likely we will be allowed to cut this plant this year allowing for better swimming especially at the public beach.
