We created Chicory Cottage for families, friends, and couples who desire to be minutes from all of the attractions Door County has to offer, but also long to escape to a private retreat. Door County is a world-class vacation destination, and we truly believe that Chicory Cottage has every ingredient necessary to make lasting, generational vacation memories. Relax together with a few glasses of wine as you listen to some vinyl records. Have breakfast or read a good book on our screened-in porch. Enjoy some friendly competition in our game room, or walk to Kangaroo lake and explore on the provided paddle boards. Chat and reminisce next to our fire table, or spend precious family evenings cozying up to a roaring bonfire. With all three bedrooms on one level, an indoor gas fireplace, a private outdoor entertaining space, and a game room complete with children's toys, bumper pool and shuffleboard, Chicory Cottage is the perfect place to make memories for all ages and seasons. A word about our cleaning protocols….We have a larger family, and we stay in multiple vacation rentals a year. We know, firsthand, how the cleanliness of a rental can make or break your hard-earned vacation. Unlike most vacation rentals, at Chicory Cottage we wash/change-out all duvet covers, extra blankets, living room throw blankets, and living room throw pillow covers between every guest, in addition to all the typical bed sheets and pillowcases. We take cleaning very seriously and our process is extremely extensive because we know that your relaxation and enjoyment depends on it.Years ago, on our first trip to Kangaroo Lake, someone shared their home with us. This began our goal of creating a memorable vacation home to share the magic of Door County and the Kangaroo Lake area with others. Our home is owner-managed and cared for because we believe that you deserve the highest level of guest experience, cleanliness, and peace-of-mind during your vacation. We genuinely look forward to hosting you and sharing our little slice of Door County!★★★Please read our entire listing including our house rules. Our standard check-in time is 4pm and standard check-out is 10am. We require a signed rental agreement, waiver of liability, and a $300 credit card security deposit hold for all bookings. The name used to book the reservation must match that on the credit card and the signed rental agreement. The rental agreement and security deposit hold must be completed within 48 hours of booking (within 24 hours if arrival date is less than 3 days from time of booking.) or the reservation will be canceled. Our home is located in a quiet community with neighbors and is geared towards quiet family/friends vacations. We cannot accommodate bachelor or bachelorette parties, reunions or other rowdy gatherings. We supply paper products including two rolls of paper towels for the kitchen and six rolls of toilet paper per bathroom. We also supply hand soap, dish soap, dishwasher soap, laundry detergent and garbage bags. We supply one small, travel-size shampoo, conditioner and body wash per full bathroom. We recommend that you bring shower essentials for stays longer than two nights.
