Big Star Lake Cottage Centrally Located In Manistee National Forest The Cottage at Big Star Lake is located in Baldwin, MI in the heart of Manistee National Forest. Big Star Lake is a 912 acre all sports lake with a public boat launch located just a few miles from the Cottage. The rental is situated on a private drive just 500 ft. from the beautiful Bayak Beach, a private association with 300 ft. of white sand beach. There are walking trails adjacent to the Cottage and state hiking trails are less than a mile away. Other activities nearby include Mel's Ice Cream, the Marquette Trails Golf Course, Baldwin Canoe Rental, the Pere Marquette River, and Shrine of the Pines - all located within a short driving distance.The Cottage can comfortably sleep 5 people. There is a loft with 2 twin bunks - perfect for the kids, a master bedroom with a full bed, and a pull out queen sleeper in the lower level family room. Conveniences include a fully equipped kitchen; washer and dryer; TV with a DVD/blue ray player; towels; and a hairdryer. The Cottage also has a fire pit, outdoor furniture, and a hammock for enjoying lazy afternoons. Please note that the Cottage does not have internet access. The location is perfect for a day trip to Lake Michigan! Situated less than 2 hours from Ludington (35 mi.), Traverse City (68 mi.), and the Sleeping Bear Dunes (81 mi.). Kids will love running down the dunes and frolicking in the crystal blue water of Lake Michigan. For the older ‘kids’ Traverse City offers great shopping, eating, and the Old Mission Peninsula- home to 8 magnificent wineries.
