This jewel of a Puget Sound island, only a 20-minute ferry boat ride from West Seattle or a ten-minute ride from Tacoma, is a paradise getaway from the bustle of urban life. The house, comfortable but elegant, features a wide deck where you can relax and contemplate the breathtaking, panoramic view of the Quarter Master Harbor inlet crisscrossed by sailboats, kayakers, paddleboarders and rowers as well as powerboats of all sizes. The deck provides a magical location for sipping a glass of wine at sunset. A luxurious hot tub, with a view of the inlet, resides on the patio off the main bedroom with privacy guaranteed by Secret Garden. Follow the 50 stairs down to the beach where the gazebo is the perfect place for a picnic, reading a book, sipping a glass of wine or seabird watching. Take the kayaks out into the Harbor as dusk settles on the water, and you may be surprised by a sea otter. The two-acre garden is filled with trees, bushes and plants that thrill the most ardent gardeners. Identified a top Pacific Northwest summer vacation spot, Vashon Island offers fishing, biking, kayaking, horseback riding and hiking as wells as art galleries, bookstores, coffee shops, restaurants, free concerts and a movie house. Hunt for seashells on the beach walks or just sit back and enjoy the quiet, the solitude and the view of water and sunsets. A fast foot-ferry will deliver you to downtown Seattle. Vashon Island is a hidden secret that will draw you back year after year. Please Note: Because of Covid-19, we stipulate one day between the departure of a guest and the arrival of the next guest to allow our housecleaner adequate time to safely clean the house. Unfortunately, the VRBO policy and algorithm allows guests to book their arrival for 4 p.m. on a day when the prior guest must depart by 12 Noon. Consequently, our new policy is that the new guest cannot arrive until 4 p.m. the day following a guest’s departure.
