Cozy cabin on the lake, close to Mount Rainier, skiing, hiking, downtown! If you are looking for a family vacation or a romantic getaway, Lakeside Cottage is the place. Unplug from the hustle and bustle of the city and come to this quiet and charming cottage to recharge and rejuvenate. The cottage will take you close to nature, but at the same time has all tidings of a well appointed guest experience; it is located on Lake Walker, which is a non-motorized lake with two acres of wooded forest and 100 ft on the water.Our previous guests say the following:> We love the peaceful surroundings with the evergreen trees and the beautiful lake...> I enjoyed the privacy and how peaceful it felt...> My wife and I couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing stay...> Amazing host and super cute cabin in a great spot by the lake...Please read space description before booking.A few amenities: - A fully functional kitchen with electric cooker & oven, dish washer, microwave and fridge; crockery, cutlery, pots and pans. A wide selection of spices and essentials like olive oil, salt, sugar, etc.- Keurig coffee machine with K-cup pods; coffee beans and French press. Selection of natural and organic teas. - Clean and bright bathroom, washer, dryer, lots of towels and spare bed linen which are always washed and fresh- A 52-inch smart TV for watching Netflix, HULU, YouTube, etc. DSL internet with 5MB download speed (can get internet outages during storms). NEW: Backup internet over mobile network so hopefully no more internet outages! - A comfortable sofa-bed which converts to a queen bed. Can sleep two. We also have a queen size airbed in case more accommodation is needed. - A new Tiny home-based bedroom (attached to the main cabin) with a queen size bed and a study table and chair overlooking the lake- Electric air-conditioning (heating and cooling) for the main cabin as well as the attached tiny home- In case of power outage, propane heater for the cabin, and a 9000 W electric generator on gasoline for emergency electric power. - A covered patio with propane fireplace, sitting area, propane grill for your BBQs, and outdoor dinning for four. Also has an electric heater for warmth. - Small little touches like an actual AM/FM radio, essential oils, lots of candles, etc. We also have a selection of books touching topics like self-care, philosophy, art, history for your enjoyment. - Board games like chess, etc. - Lake-side fire pit for enjoying sunsets and sunrises! A hammock in the open area to enjoy the bright stars at night. Obviously it is usable when not raining! - Boat dock and a small boat (fits 4 people) to enjoy the lake. Summer only. - Above all, the cabin is in a largely natural forest with tall trees and animals like deer, racoons, etc. Please note: Unfortunately we are not setup for pets. The cottage is a cottage; small and cozy (and romantic!). Please see all pictures in the listing to know what to expect. The cottage is on Lake Walker which covers around 12 acres, and we have around 100 ft. on the lake front with a boat dock and a small boat which you can take out on the lake. The cottage is located in a natural forest, which means there is wildlife (deer, raccoons, possums, spiders, etc.), as well as branches and leaves. In the fall months these leaves turn color and fall. During winter months (November to April) it can snow and the county roads leading to the cottage can get tricky. We highly recommend an AWD or a 4x4 vehicle during this time. We do have internet/Wifi but because we are in a remote location we can get area-wide internet outages. If this happens, we suggest you reconnect with nature! NEW: We now have backup internet over mobile network which kicks in when the main network (over DSL) is not available. Hopefully no more internet outages for you! There can also be power outage during storms. We have candles, a generator and propane heat which can make things a bit easy. Welcome to rural America! We are a no-smoking house and property.
