All Season Paradise. Swim, Hike, Ski and More! Welcome to our Jamaica farmhouse, a place with space to live and breathe the beauty that Vermont has to offer. Simple, authentic, and perfectly close to the village, yet quiet and serene. The peaceful sound of water over stones can be heard from the brook outside the front door. Minutes away from the slopes and other outdoor activities, the entire house is a library- a real treasure for those days one might rather curl up by the stove. The attached yoga/ meditation studio is completely private (windows and skylights face away towards the mountains and the back of the 2 acre property.Physical Description/ Walk Through:The house has an attached barn with covered parking for one car and an insulated room to remove and store ski equipment. The hallway between the house and barn leads to the kitchen, a yoga studio with Buddhist shrine, and a fenced in dog yard that backs up to our summer cabins. The kitchen and dining area are together. There is a small wood stove at the far end of the dining area. Also downstairs is a living room with a large wall mounted TV and wood stove, a den/guest bedroom with a double futon sofa bed, and a bathroom with a shower and laundry. The second floor has a large master bedroom with a full bed and work desk, and a small single bedroom. The rooms share a full bathroom that is accessible from either bedroom. The 3rd floor is a converted attic that is a great room for kids. There is a trundle bed, a single bed and a full futon couch, so it can sleep up to 5 young ones. There is a 1/2 bath and a television upstairs. The Village:The town of Jamaica, just steps away, is a friendly Vermont village. Westriver Provisions is a wonderful market with a great selection of necessities including local produce, breads, pastries and an extensive craft beer selection. There are always seasonal festivals and local activities. Jamaica State Park is also a quick, and beautiful walk from the house.The Area:There is a wonderfully healthy Co-Op in Brattleboro, a grocery store in nearby Londonderry and every kind of shopping, including designer outlets, in Manchester. Enjoy the many restaurants also nearby- from diners to gourmet award winning dining. Please feel free to ask me for recommendations!
