Manapouri Pond House Manapouri Pond HouseThe Manapouri Pond House is located amidst the woods close to the beautiful village of Shelburne Falls. This craftsman style home was lovingly built by Bruce and his best friend back in 1989. A multi-leveled main deck features views down onto Manapouri Pond and also into a forested valley. Manapouri Pond is connected to the house with a number of paths that wind through an orchard and garden. At the center of the house stands an ash log that supports an octagonal spiral staircase. We ask that our guests refrain from bringing alcohol or drugs onto the property. Thank you very muchThe spaceManapouri (a Maori name) is the name of one of New Zealand s (where Bruce is from) most beautiful lakes. The 1st floor is an open floor plan with a wood burning stove as the centerpiece. The master bedroom has a feeling of being in a treehouse with windows all around the bed offering icredible views. A cantilevered deck is accessed from the upstairs 2nd bedroom and provides a birds-eye view of the property. The Kitchen is fully stocked with appliances and pots and pans. There are more nature-focused architectural surprises of stone and wood to greet the appreciative visitor.Maureen and Bruce are long-time meditators. Their home is a special sanctuary for them and they are delighted to share​ it with others who can appreciate and respect this unique environment.We ask that our guests refrain from bringing alcohol or drugs onto the property.
