Stunning Mojave Desert, CA Home - Recreation, Views, Death Valley & Other Parks Rocky Top Ranch is our private vacation retreat in the Mojave Desert that must be seen to be believed. This spacious, 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom home is perfect for a tranquil and rejuvenating getaway, any time of year. Hike, bike, or explore the Mojave on your off-road vehicles!Rocky Top is located in the far Western Mojave Desert, near where the desert dramatically transitions to the Sierra Nevada, the tallest mountain range in the US. It is a 2.5 hour drive from Los Angeles, and a 3.5 hour drive from Las Vegas. Not only are multiple National Parks within striking distance, but Rocky Top Ranch offers seclusion, luxury, and door-step accessibility to hiking, biking, and all forms of vehicle off-roading. This historic and beautifully-appointed home is situated on 4 privately-owned acres, within 1000 square miles of pristine, public access, Federal Bureau of Land Management desert preserve. There is plenty of driveway for your off-roading vehicles, transportation or other recreational equipment. Rocky Top is solar-powered/off-grid, yet just two miles of desert road from the nice-sized town of Ridgecrest, California, and the adjacent China Lake Naval Air Base. Rocky Top Ranch is the best of both worlds - privacy and luxury set within a gorgeous natural desert environment, yet close to a town with major grocery store chains, convenient restaurants and, yes, two Starbucks! Enjoy spectacular views of 4 mountain ranges, incredible sunsets and unparalleled stargazing in an area rich with ghost towns, museums and antiques. If you get lucky, you might catch Naval aircraft flying test missions and maneuvers over the BLM preserve at eye-level from one of Rocky Top's many verandas. The Sierra Nevadas, Death Valley, Sequoia, Yosemite and Kings Canyon National Parks are all driving distance from Rocky Top Ranch. Mt. Whitney, the tallest peak in the Lower 48 States, is only 15 miles away and fully visible from the ranch. You won't find a nicer or more comfortable place to stay for hundreds of miles. This beautifully updated home is wonderful for a large gathering of friends or family. It has 4 private bedrooms with beds for 12 guests, and 3 full baths. We have turned one large bedroom into a cowboy-themed bunkroom, perfect for kids of all ages! The great-room area features nearly 360-degree views of the mountain ranges, a well-appointed and well-stocked kitchen with every appliance you might need, saloon-style bar seating, a separate breakfast area, and pass-through to a large dining room that seats 8 or more comfortably. The dining room doubles as a conference room for business meetings.
