The Purple House is walking distance to the train station, Mystic Seaport, Mystic Museum of Art, and Mystic Pizza! It's also just a 5 minute drive from the Mystic Aquarium and Olde Mystic Village and 20 minutes from Watch Hill, Misquamicut, Foxwoods, and Mohegan Sun Casino. The direct access to the Mystic River and a private dock is just steps away through the backyard, offering Adirondack chairs, a fire pit, and a charcoal grill! The long drive-way on the property provides plenty of off-street parking.The house has a modern eat in kitchen as well as a large dining room for family gatherings. For 2024, the entire house has sleeping accommodations for a total of 12 guests (NOTE: For 2025, maximum number of guests will be 10). For 2024, the 3 upstairs bedrooms can accommodate 8 guests, which includes a queen in one bedroom, two full beds in a second bedroom, and two twin beds in the third. Bedroom 4 is on the main floor with a queen size bed. This is a great spot for those who would rather not climb stairs to the second floor rooms. The Living Room also has a pull out couch that can accommodate 2 more people. (NOTE: For 2025, the upstairs will have a King size bed in Bedroom 1, 2 full beds in Bedroom 2, and two twin beds in Bedroom 3. The downstairs will still have a Queen bed. There will be no pull-out couch). There is a full bath on both the upper and lower levels. An inviting front porch offers comfortable seating while you take in the sound of the church bells from across the street. A shady backyard also offers a wonderful place to relax and recharge. While we want our guests to have a respite from the pressures of modern life and spend time in each other’s company, there is high speed Internet access. There is also a large (over 100) collection of DVD movies in the living room and the Smart TV allows you to hook up to your own Netflix subscription. As long-time residents of the area, we also offer a review of area restaurants that only a local could provide! Of course, we also encourage guests to add their own reviews as well as the restaurant scene is always evolving! Use your time in Mystic to slow down- Have a BBQ in the back yard, take a walk to our dock on the river and hang out, or just walk to your heart's content through town, to the beaches, or into the nature preserves all within easy access of Connecticut's most beautiful river town!There is nothing better located to downtown while also offering access to a dock and the Mystic River with the space and charm of this beautiful home. Take advantage of a great deal!NOTE: We are in the process of re-decorating! Furniture and decor are being swapped out weekly to update the look and feel of this beautiful house. The interior of the house will be freshly painted for the beginning of the 2025 season. New beds have already been added to the Twin bedroom and the upstairs Master bedroom will have a King bed in 2025. Two new couches have already arrived and more furniture updates are coming. We look forward to providing an even more wonderful coastal stay for your group next year!
