On any day you may see deer, turkey, cows, chickens, squirrels, cats and dogs. At night stars are in abundance. Set on 47 acres, on a working farm, this two bedroom, 2 bath house has everything that you need. Relax by the heated pool, open May 1 - September 30th, with a view of the mountains. Or take a walk or drive down the road to visit the cows and our farmer friend, Mr. Brian. Peace and quiet is what you will experience.Our 1000 sq ft house is quant, comfortable and welcoming. The open living room and eat in kitchen share one, open space with lots of natural light. The kitchen table has seating for 6. The kitchen includes a full size refrigerator, stove/oven, toaster, microwave, dishwasher, Keurig and regular coffee maker, pots, pans, dishes and utensils. Clean, filtered well water is drinkable from all faucets. The living room includes multiple chairs including a full size sofa bed, for relaxing, watching tv or just hanging out and a large flat screen tv. There are also multiple card and board games under the tv. The hallway has a coat closet, one full bathroom with a bath tub and leads to the laundry closet and two bedrooms. The smaller bedroom has one twin bunk bed set and a full (double) bed and a small dresser. The master bedroom has a queen size bed, dresser, a closet, tv and an in-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. There is one inflatable mattress available for guest use. Both bathrooms have hair dryers.Both the living room and master bedroom televisions have smart tv’s which give you access to Netflix and Hulu accounts as well as other apps.We provide 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, linens, pillows, towels, blankets, shampoo and conditioner in the master bathroom, as well as Keurig cups in the kitchen. You'll need to bring your own paper towels, napkins etc.Guests will have access to the entire house on one level. There are garages beneath the house that are not available to the guests. The stairs in the house lead to the parking behind the house.We have recently added a fire pit and some chairs and a table in the backyard, providing a cozy spot for you to enjoy nature. Inside the house, you will find s'more sticks, which are perfect for making delicious marshmallow treats. You're welcome to bring your own firewood, but we also have options available. My daughter has chopped her own firewood into large bundles, which you can purchase for $9 each. If you prefer, you can also pre-request the firewood when you book your reservation.Set almost 3/4 miles off of the main road, up a small mountain, amongst the trees. The house is next to the host's house. Park parallel to the house, in the gravel between the houses, or behind it. Do not block the main house’s garages. The rental includes seasonal usage of the heated in-ground pool with slide and children's swing set. The pool area has multiple lounge chairs and umbrellas, sofas and tables, a ping pong table and a pool house with a shower/toilet and changing room. Mountain views are also included:) The pool is shared with the other rental on the property. Watch your children at ALL times, especially in the pool area. There is a deep end and there is no life guard. Swim at your own risk. Baby equipment, such as a pack n play, high chair, swing, and baby bath tub can be left in the house for use if requested.Our two small dogs have a doggy door from our house and may want to visit with you if you are outside. They are both friendly. There are also friendly barn cats on the property that may visit. Want to being a larger group and spread out amongst two houses? Well, you are in luck! We also rent out a 3 bedroom/ 2 bath house on the property that sleeps up to 8 people and/or seasonally rent our 38' foot RV. https://www.vrbo.com/3685048?dateless=trueWe appreciate texts alerting us to any issues. If after 11pm, there may be a delay in getting back to you.Parties, Gathering and Smoking are not allowed. If you are planning to have a party or gathering, please note, this will not be tolerated and your reservation will be immediately cancelled and guests vacated from our property. There is a $1,000 fine for any illegal party or gathering. For any exceptions, you must have written permission from us prior to your arrival ONLY.AVOIDABLE FEES:*Smoking indoors- Cigarettes, marijuana, pipes etc- minimum $250*Excessive messes $80 per hour*Party fine $1,000 and immediate removal*Extra guests above the ones on the reservation $150 per guest, per night.-Dogs- We charge a minimal pet fee, so we just ask that pets are not allowed in beds or furniture as removing pet hair is very time consuming and this will incur an extra charge from our cleaning crew of $80 per hour and we would have to pass that to our guests.We appreciate your understanding. The fees are the unfortunate result of guests not respecting our home, so we like to disclose this up front. Save your money. It will get expensive if you break the rules.::Places to Visit::Hillside Farms- Fresh dairy and visit with animals. We have lots of great bike trails and state parks nearby.Frances Slocum State Park has great hiking and biking trails as well as a lake for non-motorized water activities and a playground. It is less than 10 minutes away. Lackawanna State Park is a beautiful state park with hiking, fishing, boating, picnicking and more. It is approximately 35 minutes away. Ricketts Glen State park has great hiking trails, a beach lake and amazing water falls. It is about 50 minutes away, but worth the drive for sure.In the winter there is skiing 25 minutes away at Montage Mountain. There are also many ski resorts in the Poconos within an hour drive away.::Food::There are many restaurants in the area, but the independently owned ones are the best. Some of our favorites that we recommend are: Agolino’s, Grico’s, Valenti’s, Kevin’s, Fire & Ice, Rikasa, Bravo Tex Mex, Fuji’s Pittston & Canteen Central. Recommended nearby Italian/pizza places are: Napoli’s, Antonio’s, Demuro’s Pizza, TC Reily’s & Tomasino’s. ::Grocery Stores::There are many grocery stores within 10-15 minutes away including Fresh Grocer, Weis, Aldi and Walmart.
