Set back from the road along a paved winding drive you will approach this stately home perfectly situated in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains surrounded by 96,000 acres of beautiful Bald Eagle State forest. This 200 acre property is beautifully landscaped with native and woodland plants plus acres of mountain land. Enjoy the sound of the cascading stream, while you sit at one of the nine stunning fireplaces and enjoy your cup of morning coffee. Or relax in our hot tub on the lower patio beside the creek as the snow falls and the beautiful sounds of nature around you!!Located 35 minutes from Bucknell University and 55 minutes from Penn State University (Main Campus), this large lodge is the perfect place for alumni to stay during college reunions or homecoming weekend. The elegancy and majesty of this house will leave you in awe. The builders & designers definitely had an eye for beauty and grandeur. Truly nothing was missed! The lodge has a fully stocked kitchen with every kitchen tool and appliance you will need, pots and pans, serving bowls, goblets, etc.,etc. The cabinetry is real wood completed by all granite counter tops. The bar counter is a half moon with a stone front. The stove is perfect for cooking and baking and has an awesome feature of a true copper hood! (don't forget to start the vent when cooking foods as the smoke detectors will go off if need be and they are connected to the local fire department for your safety.)A large dining room with 2 large tables makes for plenty of seating. Double patio doors open to the dining room's own patio complete with a grill, patio furniture, and an outdoor fireplace. A beautiful fireplace completes the dining room. The living room has a large sectional couch which has a queen pull out couch for more sleeping space, plus more chairs, and couches. A large fireplace graces the corner. In the other corner is our majestic spiral staircase spanning 3 floors. This very staircase is built of logs and took 300 man hours to build!!!The Master bedroom Suite with its own bathroom is on the main floor. The bedroom holds a king bed with lots of space for you to sit and unwind in front of the fireplace. Plus a large walk in closet for storage. In this closet you will also find extra blankets should you need them.The second floor loft has one bedroom with a king bed. A full wall stocked bookcase with books for all tastes including novels, biographies, etc, etc. is the perfect destination for the bookworm. The open room in the loft is perfect for the children to sleep, or anyone:) boasting 3 full size beds, a pull out couch, and 2 sleeper ottomans. The loft alone can sleep up to 12 people. There's also a table for playing games or for sitting and relaxing. A full bath with a footed tub is on this floor as well.In the basement we have a Kitchen, living room, with its own fireplace, and 2 bedrooms. Each bedroom has a king bed, its own fireplace, a walk in closet large enough to be the nursery if you wish to move the pack n play into its own space, and its own bathroom. The bedrooms are huge so there's plenty of space if you need a bit of alone time:) The couch in the basement living room is also a pull out couch; therefore the basement can sleep up to 6 people.If you’re a hiker or biker, there are 200 acres of wooded land with walking, hiking, and biking trails. Our land borders the Bald Eagle State Forest where you can go for additional adventures!20 miles of great ATV and riding trails just off of Rt 235 just a short distance from the lodge (if you want a website for this, please ask and we will send that to you)If you're looking for indoor entertainment, we've turned the second floor of the on-site barn into a giant game room! There, you will find a pool table, Foosball, Ping Pong, and Floor Shuffleboard. There is also a table and chairs where you can play card games or board games or just take in the energy from others' excitement. The pull out couch is also a great sleeping spot if one of your party members should want to stay in the barn. **A beautiful, all log, fully furnished playhouse complete with electricity and heat is the perfect getaway for the kids to have their own space! There is children's furniture and toys to make this a memorable space for the young & young at heart! For travelers needing to work on vacation, for your convenience there is WIFI throughout the lodge. Cell service is a bit spotty for some people, but there is a landline phone available for your use.To encourage a more family-oriented environment, Schrader Run Lodge does not have any TVs. We appreciate the value of quality family (& friends) time, so there are board games to play in the lodge, there is a game room in the barn, a playhouse for the kiddos, & lots of outdoor space for relaxing.Extra info for you:The entire house has central heat and air. There is a washer and dryer for your use. Towels and linens are provided as well as paper towels, toilet paper, etc.Cleaning supplies are found in the laundry room.Please use the fireplaces as instructed by the property manager. Do not burn wood on any of the gas fireplaces.Our lodge has a built in security system and we also have a property manager who is available full time should you need assistance with anything during your stay.If you are looking to "get away from it all" and disconnect yourself for a nice relaxing getaway, you need not look any further, Schrader Run Lodge has the natural beauty built in and the nature for you to enjoy.We are happy to accommodate early check in & late check out (if possible) for an added fee of 20$ per hour.
