Pacific View - Meredith LodgingThis cheerful blue duplex near Waldport’s downtown puts you a few blocks from the stunning Alsea Bay and its soaring bridge, where you can see harbor seals napping on the sand spit across the water. It’s an easy walk to shops, restaurants and the Woodland Trail. A five-minute drive takes you to the town’s marina, where you can rent a boat and try your hand at crabbing and fishing in the bay; if you prefer walking the beach, you’ll have miles of flat sand, ocean breezes and wheeling seagulls from several access points. Pacific View has large windows in the living room, where you can relax on red leather sofas, enjoy a fire in the woodstove. A separate dining area and a fully equipped kitchen (plus a grocery store a few blocks away) make dining in a cinch. Two bedrooms, a king suite with its own bathroom and deck access and a queen bedroom with a large TV, make this a great home for a small family or two couples. The hallway has another bathroom and off the kitchen is a washer and dryer. A fenced deck gives you space and privacy for outdoor living and fantastic forest views. You might even spot a bald eagle who frequents the area! Waldport is a terrific headquarters for exploring the south-central coast: you’ll be within a half-hour of the many activities in Newport (including the Oregon Coast Aquarium, Hatfield Marine Science Center and the historic bayfront and marina), quiet beaches and forest hikes, magnificent Cape Perpetua, Heceta Head Lighthouse, Sea Lion Caves, and the dunes and lakes of Florence.
