As many have done, the owners have placed large sandbags along the home's shoreline to mitigate further beach erosion due to high Lake Michigan water levels. That said, even with the sandbags in place, the water is easily accessible by climbing down or up the "step-like" configuration of the sandbags. See photos for detail.
