Dubbed "Bunting House" in honor of the family who occupied this home for 60 years, this house is nestled in the woods with Candlewood Lake right outside the front door and expansive tree-lined water views from kitchen, living room, and master bedroom. A stay at Bunting House provides sanctuary from the noise and chaos of a busy world, and offers a nostalgic memories for those who summered at an old lake house in the past.The "gemutlich" ambiance of an original 30s vaulted-ceiling lake house with its rugged Adirondack siding, pine shiplap paneling, floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace (complete with original 1930s moose head!), scullery with chopping block, cooking kitchen with dining area, and period antiques in every room, is what makes this house so charming. Flooded with natural light--especially with a "wall of windows" on three sides of the kitchen--and with lake or lush green forest seen from every room, this is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the feeling of home.
