Escape to the mountains! Beat the Summer heat! Ready for a change of pace? Visit our cabin for a slice of mountain life. Imagine sitting on the front porch with beverage of choice. Listen to the birds, watch for the deer, enjoy the cool mountain air. Plan your day -- will it be a trip to Gettysburg only 20 minutes away; a hike in a local park or national forest (maps and other information available), or just a relaxing day at the cabin. Our cabin has 3 bedrooms and two full baths and is located in the mountains of Carroll Valley, PA. We are conveniently located 2 miles from Liberty Resort and 20 minutes from the Gettysburg Battlefields. Our cabin is a perfect lodging alternative for those attending weddings at Liberty Resort, any of the other wedding venues, or visiting family in the area. Our cabin comes fully stocked with dishes, bake ware, glasses, pots, pans, everything you need to make your stay most memorable. There is even a washer and dryer for your use. Linens and towels are provided making this a great weekend getaway. Our cabin features a huge front porch complete with furniture to sit and have your morning cup of coffee or tea. There is also a hammock ready for those nice afternoon naps. The back deck is a screened in porch complete with large picnic table and seating. Great place to unwind after a long day of hiking, sightseeing, or just hanging out at the cabin. Return to the cabin and relax with your beverage of choice!We have two TVs, one in the living room area and the other in the loft. The downstairs TV does have cable and a DVD player; the upstairs TV is DVD/VCR only. Bring your favorite movies or watch one of the many in our movie library. There are games and puzzles there for all to use. In addition to being close to Gettysburg, we are 25 minutes from Long Pine Reservoir in Caledonia State Park for those interested in fishing. This park also has a seasonal swimming pool and many hiking trails. The trail head for the Appalachian Trail is only 6 miles from our cabin. Thurmont, MD is home to both a state park and Catoctin National Park both offering wonderful hiking.Interested in golf - there is the Liberty Golf Resort two miles away, as well as the Mountain View Golf Course located outside Fairfield, PA.Photos represent the current furniture available.We are kayakers... so if you have your own boats and need a recommendation, please reach out!We have implemented enhanced cleaning practices as it our goal to help you stay safe!
