Fantastic boating and swimming.The property is Ideal for families. The house has 3 floors of living space. Great for entertaining and socializing. Sechrist is fed by spring water and has a sandy bottom. In our opinion it has the clearest water of the other lakes in the Barbee chain. In front of the house there is a private sandy beach. The water is shallow so ideal for children.The Barbee Lakes chain is composed of seven interconnected, natural lakes situated west of North Webster, Indiana. The lakes include Kuhn, Big Barbee, Little Barbee, Irish, Banning, Sawmill and Sechrist. They are interconnected by Grassy Creek which extends upstream from the chain to Ridinger Lake and downstream to Lake Tippecanoe. The lakes’ watershed stretches southeast into Whitley County, encompassing approximately 33,150 acres or 52 square miles. Sechrist Lake - Deepest of the Barbee chain, Sechrist Lake covers 105 acres with a sand bottom, maximum depth of 70 feet and average depth of 35 feet. Principal game fish are large-mouth bass, small-mouth bass, pike, bluegills, perch and crappies.There is a pier for your boat. There are local boat companies who hire boats. Please note the pier is taken out in the winter months but you can still launch a small boat from the beech. We have additional parking for boat trailersThere are excellent restaurants, golf courses , antique stores and tourist attractions.
