A large living and dining room with a wood burning fireplace and a Roku 4k TV for all of your streaming needs. Enjoy your morning coffee and evening drinks on the wraparound deck overlooking the mountain!Powder Horn Mountain is a quite & secluded gated community located in the beautiful North Carolina High Country. Guests have access to over 12 miles of hiking trails including the popular blue hole waterfall hike and several trails along Laurel Creek. Serene creek-side campgrounds stocked with firewood, a grill, and picnic tables. The clubhouse is half a mile from the cabin and is equipped with WiFi, a game room, a gym, a pool (Open Memorial Day to Labor Day), pedal boats, and a playground; all of which are open to our guests!Area Attractions:* Blue Ridge Parkway (15min)* Boone (25min). Home of Appalachian State University. Beautiful downtown with tons of local restaurants, breweries, wineries, shops, and endless outdoor adventures* Blowing Rock (35min). Charming mountain town with dining, shopping, and hiking* Elk Creek (popular fly fishing just minutes from the cabin)* Tweetsie Railroad (30min)* Appalachian Ski Mountain (35min)* Hawksnest Snow Tubing and Zipline (45min)* Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster (45min)* Grandfather Mountain State Park (50min)* Since we are a secluded mountain retreat, the nearest gas station and grocery store is 20min from the cabin just past the Blue Ridge Parkway in Boone. It is a beautiful scenic drive that winds up the mountain, but you may want to bring groceries prior to your arrival so you can get settled in right away! -- Please note that the road from Power Horn to Boone has some sharp turns as it winds up the mountain and there isn't much street lighting if you are driving after dark.* The cabin is located in a wooded area, so you may see bugs, furry critters, and reptiles. We have routine pest control; however, we cannot guarantee that any such critters will not be visible in and around the property.
