With 6 bedrooms, and 5 bathrooms, Lured In is perfect for large families or groups of friends who want to enjoy swimming, fishing and boating on site, as well as zip lining, gem mining and hiking in nearby Chimney Rock State Park, 10 minutes away. This charming lakeside home has 2 porches, a covered stone terrace, and a sun deck, so there's lots of outdoor spaces to enjoy the lake and mountain views. Decorated with a refined, lake cabin theme combined with shabby chic style, this warm and inviting lake house has many cozy and unexpected nooks and crannies so that everyone can find their favorite spot for some alone time to relax or read a book, then come together with the whole family in one of the spacious living areas. This 2,800 sq ft 3-story vintage lakefront home was built in 1931 when it was originally used as a hunting and fishing cabin and fully renovated and updated in 2016 with meticulous attention to detail. On cooler fall days or during the winter holidays, cozying up in front of the large wood burning fireplace on the main level and looking out over the lake is about as good as it gets. And we provide the firewood!On warmer days sitting down on the covered stone terrace, on the deck atop the boathouse or out on the dock just listening to the water lap up against the shore is equally magical. (The small private beach is especially a hit for parents with small children who aren't quite ready to swim.) There are 2 individual kayaks and one 2-person kayak for our guests to explore the lake.IMPORTANT: If you are planning to bring a boat or rent a boat during your stay, be sure to check with the Town of Lake Lure or Lake Lure Adventure Company about boater rules and regulations before renting. A boat can be docked at the house, but the dock can only be accessed from the lake. Shopping and dining in Chimney Rock Village is only 3 miles away and lakeside dining options are within 2 miles in either direction. For those up to venturing out on a day trip, the options abound. Asheville and the Biltmore Estate are 45 minutes away, Hendersonville and the Flat Rock Playhouse is 30 minutes away and Greenville and Spartanburg are both just an hour away. For those who enjoy antiquing in more quaint towns, Tryon, Saluda and Landrum are all within 30 minutes and have charming downtowns. This lakefront home is only 17 miles to the Tryon International Equestrian Center where you can enjoy watching or participating in equestrian competitions. There are also several wineries to visit within 20 minutes. So gather the whole gang and come experience lakeside living at its best and make memories you will treasure for a lifetime.This home is located in a mountainous area, and we have occasional power outages due to fallen trees. We cannot be held responsible for possible electrical power outages, or if the internet is not working, as these are circumstances beyond our control, and no refunds will be given. Thank you for your understanding.While we rarely have heavy snows, if you are coming to the mountains in winter or early spring, you must be prepared for the possibility of some ice and/or snow.PLEASE NOTE: Lake Lure will be undergoing a drawdown starting Jan 1, 2025 through March 15, 2025. The lake will begin to be lowered by approximately 1 foot per day on Jan 1, 2025 until 20 feet has been reached. Infrastructure maintenance, dredging and dock work will be expedited during this time frame. These efforts by the Town of Lake Lure may affect access to the lake and restrict any lake usage during this time frame. Refilling of the lake will begin on March 16, and will depend upon rainfall. During the drawdown, visitors will still be able to enjoy hiking, zip lining, gem mining, fishing in the Rocky Broad River, dining, shopping, and the beautiful mountain views that surround Lake Lure.
