This charming log cabin is only a short drive to downtown West Jefferson and offers the convenience of nearby attractions and activities for your enjoyment. No matter what the season of the year – Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter – there’s plenty of opportunities for you to enjoy nature at her finest!Outdoor lovers will especially enjoy the proximity to Blue Ridge Parkway and New River. You might enjoy hiking, camping, horseback riding and photography along hundreds of miles of well-marked trails. Or perhaps bring (or rent) a rod and reel to try your hand at catching some delicious fresh trout from a rippling mountain stream and cooking it for dinner. If you like being on and in the water, you can canoe, kayak, or float down the historic New River for a fun-filled two hours or an entire day. Bicyclists will find plenty of routes to take; one of the most popular is the nine-mile riverside route that also follows the old railroad tracks between Todd and Fleetwood just steps away from the cabin. If you’ve got more of a downtown inclination, be sure to check out the many fine and unique shops, boutiques, galleries, coffee shops and restaurants that bring central West Jefferson alive each and every day. Check out the weekly Farmers Market, monthly Art Stroll, and quarterly performances done by the local Ashe County Little Theatre.
