Built in 1860, the house is a lovely combination of the gorgeous architectural detail of the time, and the modern amenities of today. Situated between Greenport and Orient, in the quiet hamlet of East Marion, this peaceful spot is surrounded by farmland, with open fields behind, and wild coastline minutes away. Greenport is a five-minute drive, and any number of local beaches, from the quiet sandy bay beach a half mile away, to the the more dramatic sound beach at the end of Rocky Point Road, can easily be reached by bike. Sep's farm stand, Angel's country store, the now-legendary lavender fields and the Hampton Jitney stop are all a short walk away.When you're back from the beach, vineyards, shopping, or from a great meal at one of the many restaurants of the North Fork, you can hang out, relax and watch a movie on the smart TV, play music on the Sonos. Cook on the 6-burner Wolf restaurant stove and enjoy meals in the huge dining room. Or have a long soak in one of the deep clawfoot tubs When the day's over, the beds are all super comfortable with new linens, and the whole house is air conditioned.You can also grill in the large backyard filled with shade trees, next to acres of open land for peace, privacy, and a great view.... especially at sunset. It stays cool in summer back there, perfect for reading in one of the six lounge chairs, or taking a snooze in the hammock. The cedar table on the brick patio seats 10 comfortably. And don't miss the outdoor in a hidden away in a little private garden.We offer all of the comforts of a modern home, but with a little something rustic left from days gone by.
