Green Lake is a small, pond-size lake, so boat traffic is low, waves are small, and kids are safe. Canada Lake, accessed by boat, offers more adventures. Hike from the house to Kane Mountain fire tower for breathtaking views, or let the kids explore nearby ponds with salamanders, tadpoles and beaver dams. You can have a fulfilling week without leaving the lake – but there’s lots to explore in this unique southern Adirondack location. Saratoga, Cooperstown, the Adirondack Museum and Lake George Great Escape are popular day trips.
