The Beekman Salt Box -- Historic Hudson Valley Home Stay in my fully renovated 1860 Saltbox house in the heart of Dutchess County. It is located approximately 2 miles off the Sylvan Lake/Hopewell Junction/Beekman Road exit off the Taconic State Parkway, directly on Beekman Road in the hamlet of Beekmanville, with its 7 historic houses and an old stagecoach stop nestled close to the road from the days when horses and buggies were all the transportation people used. It is located approximately 12 minutes from the Pawling Metro-North Station, and you could take a taxi here, but you would need a car to get around. There is an Enterprise car rental facility in Pawling that will pick you up if you arrange it in advance. It is also VERY easy to get here by car from NYC: 1.5 hours north on the Taconic. I am less than 3 miles from the exit, on the same road the exit is on.There are three bedrooms in total: one downstairs with a queen-sized bed, and two upstairs, one with a full bed and a twin, and the other with two twin beds. This is a total of 3 one-person beds and 2 two-person beds. Comfortably sleeps up to 8 people , if one person stays on the couch, or on my twin air mattress. There is one bathroom with both a standing shower and a separate tub. The kitchen is fully equipped with All-Clad pans, sharp knives, and spices galore. The large patio, accessible through the sliding French-style doors in the dining room, has both a gas BBQ and a fire pit. The living room also has a wood-burning stove, which is very cozy in the winter. The house sits on almost 5.5 acres, and the Fishkill Creek bisects the backyard. No car? For a $50 cash fee, I will pick you and your group up at the Pawling Metro North station 15 minutes away, take you to the local grocery store for supplies when you arrive, and drop you back at the station at the end of your stay. I can do this for a maximum of 4 guests. 6-8 guests = a $85 fee, as I will hire a second driver.Available for short- or longer-term rental. Rentals longer than 30 days will require a cleaning every 30 days. The fee for this is $85 per cleaning. Rentals longer than 60 days require a phone conversation first. :) The house has WiFi and four smart televisions — already set up with Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Youtube, and more. There is basic cable as well. There is a Verizon cell phone signal booster inside the house. Sprint has service here without it.You will have full use of the house including kitchen amenities such as spices, oils, butter, etc., as well as keyless entry with a coded door lock, access to two bicycles, and plenty of local information and help. I have lived in the area for over 30 years. I am also available for hire as a private guide/chauffer.
