Thank you for your understanding and for your interest in our Lake Home!!!Peterson’s Playground is a bright, spacious lake home full of large lake-facing windows, and wonderful deck, and comfort. This 3 story, 7 bedroom, 5.5 bath, 5500 square foot cabin has ample sleeping room for 20+ guests and includes the use of our 12-person Bennington pontoon during the summer months. We're located just 2 hours by car from Minneapolis/St.Paul (MSP) in the serene North Woods just outside Danbury, Wisconsin. A short drive away are grocery stores, gas station and casino (10 minutes) and there are 2 restaurant/ bars and The Main Store within walking distance. Cabin amenities include heat, multiple ceiling fans, two fireplaces, WiFi, cable, washer/ dryer (with detergent), comfortable beds, linens, towels, shampoo/ conditioner/ soap, paper towels, and toilet paper. Staying at Peterson’s Playground is the perfect getaway for large groups of family and friends and for team-building retreats. With three living rooms, two kitchens, a large yard with a play-set for the kids, fantastic elevated deck, a beautiful wooded lot, sandy swimming area, fire pit, games, and numerous water activities, there is plenty of room and plenty to do for adults and kids alike! Interior Living and Gathering Areas: Peterson’s Playground has a comfortable main floor sitting room as well as a living area adjacent to the open kitchen with cable TV and cozy sitting areas. The room is full of large windows overlooking the lake. And just so everyone can have their “space”…on the upper floor there’s a second TV room and play area for the kids. On the other side of the expansive second level, cozy up in front of the fireplace or enjoy a little gaming at our personal poker or foosball tables. Outside at Peterson’s Playground: Aside from its own private secluded beach and dock, Peterson’s grounds include a fire-ring, lawn furniture, wooden playset, gas grill, 12-person pontoon, two kayaks, a paddleboat, stand-up paddle board, and life jackets - all free for guests to use. We have a swimming beach with a sandy, gentle sloping lake bottom. Des Moines Lake is excellent for fishing right off the dock or out in your fishing boat and is known for Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, and Muskie. The Lake is full recreational and big enough for power boats and jet skis but quiet and low-traffic enough to enjoy the great outdoors. The large deck off the kitchen and main living area overlooks the water and is perfect for reading, watching the kids on the beach, taking in the sunset, or conversation. The deck's comfortable outdoor love seat and chairs allow you to experience the calm of the woods and lake all around. From the front porch, enjoy coffee or cocktails and experience the peaceful North Woods. But the Playground isn't just for summer use. Hunters, snowmobilers, ATVers, crafters, and quilters have great fun here too! Sleeping Arrangements (bedrooms):7 bedrooms are configured as follows: 2 Master bedrooms with lake views and king beds (one with a small sleeper good for children and one with trundle bed/ 2 twins), 2 bedrooms with two full-sized bunks and full-sized beds (one that sleeps 5 and one that sleeps 6), 1 bedroom with two twin bunks, 1 bedroom with a full-sized bed and 1 bedroom with a queen bed.. In addition, the upper level living area features a sleeper sectional with queen bed and the main floor living area has a queen sleeper sofa as well. In total it can sleep 26 people comfortably. Ample floor space for air mattresses and sleeping bags is also an option. There are two full baths on the main floor, two full baths on the upper floor, and one and a half baths on the lower floor. Cooking & Dining in: If you decide to eat-in, the home has two fully-equipped kitchens and dining areas that can seat up to 10 guests each. Aside from the usual appliances we also include coffee makers (one Keurig), dishes, glassware, utensils, pots and pans, and towels. There is also a picnic table, gas grill, charcoal grill and an outdoor fire-ring down at the beach, perfect for grilling the day’s catch or making s'mores. The new deck offers additional seating for 12 at tables and 4 on the outdoor love seat and chairs. The Playground is the perfect getaway for all to enjoy, and our ultimate goal is to make your stay a pleasant one! *Please note that, due to unfortunate past experiences, we do not rent to bachelor and bachelorette parties.
