A Modern Farmhouse Oasis Welcome to Woodstock Quarry House! Private and surrounded by nature, we are located in Hurley NY, 10 min. to Woodstock, 12 min. to Kingston and 5 min. to the Ashokan Reservoir and Rail Trail. Explore Catskills/Hudson Valley attractions- or relax in the many places within the house to read, meditate, watch movies or work (if you have to!) in one of several office spaces. Magnificent in all seasons, this is a mesmerizing place to watch wildlife and stargaze.Quarry House is an original country farmhouse built in 1859 with a modern addition creating a dramatic blend of old and new. Enter through the large 300 sq. foot screened-in porch (a fantastic hanging out space in three seasons) or through the kitchen — designed and built by a local artist. Many joyful meals have been prepared here with plenty of room for everyone to help cook! There is a formal dining room that seats ten as well as a vintage wrought iron table on the porch which easily seats 6 or more. Continue through the kitchen and dining room to the large main living room with a wood burning fireplace and walls of windows overlooking the grounds.One flight down is a suite of rooms which include a large bedroom, bathroom, and an office with a dramatic wall of exposed bedrock and French doors out to the grassy area and many patios, walkways, and seating areas hand-built over the years from bluestone quarried from the property.The second story offers one large bedroom, one smaller bedroom with a twin bed, an office or meditation room, plus a lounge/media room with large TV for streaming pleasure. The TV room and larger bedroom have outdoor balcony access.There is so much room to spread out and explore both inside our home and outside. We hope you find the same feelings of peace and connection to nature that we’ve found here since 1988. And If you are an artist or writer looking for inspiration, know that an Oscar nominated screenplay was written here!
