You can dine at the Lakeside Country Club, which is just a 5-minute walk from your front door, or continue on around the golf course for a beautiful 3-mile morning or evening walk around the neighborhood. Runners, walkers, and bicyclists will love having easy access to the Withlacoochee State Trail, which is directly across Highway 41. The Withlacoochee Trail is part of Florida’s Rails to Trails system, and is the longest paved rail trail in Florida at 46 miles, and is mostly shaded.Three miles away, downtown Inverness is a quaint small town with restaurants, sidewalk seating, and live music. After dinner, take a stroll around Courthouse Square, grab an ice cream from one of the two ice cream parlors, catch a movie at The Valerie, or walk over to Cooter Pond Park where there are walkways over the water, a large fountain, and the opportunity to see alligators, turtles, and other wildlife.
