Our home on Oak Knoll Circle is enveloped by lush forests, providing an ideal escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. For land-lovers, numerous hiking trails offer breathtaking views. With a quaint downtown nearby, essential shopping and local eateries are within easy reach. Here, you are not just booking a stay, but a gateway to a nature-infused retreat.Car: Given its rural nature, a personal vehicle is the most common mode of transport for both residents and visitors to Green Valley Lake. The area is served by a network of highways and roads that provide access to nearby towns and cities, as well as attractions like the lake and hiking trails.Walking: Due to its small size, walking can be an easy way to get around within Green Valley Lake itself, particularly if you're staying close to the lake or the small downtown area. The community’s scenic surroundings make walking a pleasant experience.Biking: Bicycling can also be a great way to get around the local area, and the region's numerous trails offer plenty of opportunities for mountain biking.TRAVELING IN WINTER• CalTrans can mandate all vehicles to carry snow chains between November 1st and April 30th. Chains are sold at most auto supply shops, hardware stores, and some convenience stores. We will not be held responsible and do not issue refunds if the city doesn't allow you up the mountain because your vehicle does not have snow chains.TRAVELING IN SUMMER• Green Valley Lake offers public access on WEEKENDS ONLY. Day passes are available for $3 per child and $10 per adult. Green Valley Lake also offers fishing passes, and rentals for rowboats, kayaks, pedal boats, and stand-up paddleboards. • Lake Gregory is available to the public if traveling MIDWEEK. This lake is about 30-40 minutes from our cabin. Access passes range from $15 to $30. Lake Gregory features a beach, splash pad, waterslides, and an inflatable waterpark. Pet friendly• We are pet friendly at a fee of $50 per pet, per stay.• Cleaning up after your pet is your responsibility. No pets are to be left unattended in the home. Barking dogs often result in neighbor complaints.**Extra pet fees will be added though our guest portal after booking is confirmed. (Plus Tax) Please let us know if you are traveling with a pet.For more pictures and to see what guests are saying visit our IG @Rather Be Properties• Primary renter must be 25 years of age, sign a rental agreement and provide a copy of photo ID• Any additional unauthorized guests will incur a $200 fee per unauthorized overnight guest. • Parking available for 2 vehicles. No street parking allowed• Per county code, quiet hours are between 10pm-7am Sun-Sat. This includes the use of the outdoor amenities past 10pm. • Any nuisance; whether from noise violations, parking standards, or any other public or private nuisance can result in the GUEST being cited by City of Big Bear with a penalty up to $1,000, per SBCC 84.28.070(h).• No smoking or vaping allowed on premises, in or outside the home. • All pets are required to be on a leash when outside the property line, or if property is not fenced in, AND all dogs are required to be licensed, per SBCC 84.28.070(m).• Service fee of $25.00 per bag of trash left inside/outside the home. All trash to be disposed of in the appropriate bins located on-site. • Our cancellation is FIRM. • Green Valley Lake is a mountain community located in a forest. Animals you may encounter around the house are woodpeckers, raccoons, squirrels, gophers, bears, and bats, among others. From time to time guests will come across one of these animals either alive or dead, inside the house or outside. Common insects include ants, spiders, moths, and flies. Insects can move very quickly when the house is left empty, even overnight and spider webs, dead insects, or live ants are possible. Our local hosting team inspects the house prior to guest arrival but cannot guarantee the house will be free of pests. Refund will not be given to the guest if an animal is found on the premises or near the premises alive or dead or if there are some insect issues.
