The beautiful Carnelian West Beach provides another excellent swimming spot just a 4-minute drive from the home.In the winter months, you are only 17 minutes from Northstar, 23 minutes to Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, and 10 minutes from the Tahoe City Nordic Center where you will find a huge network of trails for XC Skiing or snowshoeing. Those wonderful trails on the National Forest system near the home are perfect for enjoying some XC skiing and snowshoeing in the winter months.If a little less physical activity is what you are looking for, you are just a 13-minute drive west to Tahoe City and 9 minutes east from Kings Beach. In both places, you will find sandy beaches, farmers markets and major grocery stores, golf courses, small boutique shopping, waterfront parks, golf courses, weekly concerts in the summer, and a wide variety of bars and restaurants. You are also 10 minutes from the Nevada state line, where you will find casinos and concert venues. This home is the perfect launching pad for any Lake Tahoe experience!Getting Around:Located in a quiet area, just a few minutes away from HWY 28, you are central to some of the best outdoor attractions in Tahoe! Those with a vehicle enjoy being close to HWY 28 and the quick access it provides to the beautiful surrounding areas, with less than a 15-minute drive to Tahoe City and minutes away from the Nevada state line. Just a 3-minute drive will take you to Patton Beach, and the popular Kings Beach is a 9-minute drive away. In the wintertime, you are centrally located for skiing all of the best resorts with a 25-minute drive or less from three of the area's best ski resorts, Northstar, Squaw Valley ski resort, and Tahoe Nordic Cross Country Center.For those looking to utilize Tahoe’s FREE public transportation system TART, you will find several public transportation stops just under a mile away from the home on N Lake Blvd. The public transportation TART stop at Hwy 28 at Sierra Boat Co will take you to locations such as Kings Beach, or head the opposite direction and get on the bus at Hwy 28 at Carnelian Woods (Shelter), from here you are a 17-minute bus ride to Tahoe City. Easily connect to other locations at the Tahoe City Transit Center, where you can find buses to locations such as Northstar California Resort. Tahoe has UBER, Lyft, and many taxi companies.Other Things to Note:Please note that, like most homes in the area, this home does not have A/C.Please keep in mind that if you plan to ski, you are responsible for verifying the ski resorts' opening and closing dates.During the next 2-3 weeks, roof work will be underway at the Carnelian Woods complex, scheduled for completion every day, except the 4th of July, between 8 am and 6 pm. Please note that there may be some noise during this period.The pool is open during the summer with variable days and times depending on the season. Hot tubs are available in both summer and winter. The tennis courts are seasonal and currently missing lights. The lodge is open daily with hours that depend on staffing, offering equipment such as bocce balls and volleyballs for sign-out, and an outdoor ping pong area. Please note, there is no barbecue area available for renters.Interaction with Guests:We are offsite but available when needed.
