COMFORTABLE COUNTRY RETREAT IN WEST MARIN We are renting our lovely home in Woodacre in West Marin County from June 12 to July 16. Top quality furnishings. 3-bedroom 1800 sf home offers country style comfort, with large open living/dining/kitchen area; downstairs bed/bath suite; a spacious den, well equipped office and more. Each area of the home has a deck or patio adjacent with windows, sliders and french doors all around. Bucolic hill and valley views throughout. 5 person maximum occupancy. Currently, we are trying to rent for minimum of two weeks - but if unsuccessful we may open it up to shorter stays soon. The San Geronimo Valley, and Woodacre in particular, is one of the most scenic spots in the Bay Area. Though in a village setting, the house has complete privacy from neighbors, lovely views throughout, and sits in a grove of mature live oak trees on a very quiet street, across from the scenic San Geronimo Creek where wild salmon still swim upriver to spawn. Woodacre has two large ranches, so horses in the street are a common sight, and the world famous Spirit Rock Meditation center is walking distance. Woodacre is also famous for its country strong 4th of July shindig, which draws from all around. Around the corner from our home is the Woodacre Improvement club, with junior Olympic outdoor pool, newly refurbished kid pool, ping pong, gym, tennis courts, and playground. Best location in the Bay! Woodacre is a 5 minute drive to the bopping town of Fairfax (live music every night, Fairfax Festival, Mountain Biking Center/Hall of Fame, shopping, great restaurants, farmers market under the redwoods); a 15 minute drive to Olema (the gateway to Point Reyes National Seashore), 35 minutes to beach towns of Bolinas (excellent surfing) and Stinson Beach; 45 minutes to Golden Gate Bridge. West Marin is the beginning of wine country, but Sonoma, Napa, and the rugged "Mendonoma" Coast are a short jaunt north for some of the best wine in the world. 1 mile away from the home, Roy’s Redwoods offers trees of Muir Woods stature in an intimate setting without any tourists or crowds. The house is in the flats (as opposed to on a hillside) with easy vehicular and walking access. Just behind the house are endless trails into the hills (and connecting to Mount Tam) for world class hiking and mountain biking, including Tamarancho Boyscout Camp for epic single track. You can ride or run through the hills all way to the ocean, which is 8 miles as the crow flies. The hills are dotted with spectacular reservoirs for top notch fishing and secluded chilling spots. The Oceanfront features a series of world class beaches stretching from the Golden Gate National Recreational Area (Rodeo Beach, Muir Beach, Stinson, and Bolinas) to – if at all even possible – even more beautiful (and closer) beaches on Point Reyes and points north. The home itself is rustic comfort at its best. Nearly every room features a deck or patio off of it, and copious windows and sliding glass doors create a spectacular indoor/outdoor vibe. Downstairs has a large living/dining room open to the kitchen. This area features: a huge, stone, gas fireplace (please don't burn wood); overstuffed leather furniture; Lazy Boy leather recliner; Persian and Moroccan carpets, a 65” 4K UHD smart flatscreen TV w/ blueray DVD, Netflix, Amazon TV, and all the other apps; a top of the line surround sound system; a custom maple slab table; breakfast bar; chef’s kitchen with custom copper stove hood, Wolf Range; Viking 2nd oven, Bosch dishwasher. All appliances and kitchen items are high quality, including a high end coffee grinder and percolator, and all kinds of other goodies. The downstairs includes a sitting room with antique redwood deck, comfy chairs, a huge rustic armoire, and sun pouring in a sliding glass door. The downstairs has a comfortable bedroom suite with oak platform bedframe and high quality queen mattress. A full, split-room bathroom is off of the bedroom, featuring a whirlpool tub, custom tilework, and glass bricks built into the wallsThe upstairs includes a large den/office with: a second fireplace; private deck with beautiful views; 50” HD flatscreen TV w Bose sound; down and feather stuffed sectional lounging couch (So comfy!!), fun artwork, air conditioning, and a giant reclaimed wood mirror. The den is our play room, with built in yoga swing, trapeze, a huge beanbag, new ultra plush carpeting, and plenty of space for yoga or other exercise. The office within the den has color printer, large HD monitor, desk, file hangers, and all standard office equipment. The master bedroom features a private deck overlooking the backyard, 4 poster queen sized bed with excellent support and mattress, and Ethan Allen furniture. The third bedroom is a fun kids room (that’s how we use it anyway), with floorbed, the best views in the house, a built in loft, and a desk area below. The two upstairs bedrooms are connected to a spacious en suite split-room bathroom with double bowl sinks, reclaimed wood mirrors, a rain-style shower head, and a custom mural that spans both rooms. Upstairs is airy and light with open beams spanning cathedral ceilings. We currently have the home set up with play areas and kid stuff for a 3 and a 8 year old. There are tons of games and books and an outdoor fireplace for cozy evenings. HOWEVER, WE DO NOT RECOMMEND RENTING THE HOUSE WITH A TODDLER. THE HOUSE IS NOT TODDLER SAFE, THOUGH INFANT OR CHILD 5+ SHOULD BE OK. There is plenty of driveway and street parking. The front and back decks and patios are well furnished and have amazing views, with bright sun in the morning and shade in the afternoon. Patio space includes an outdoor shower. Super high speed wireless internet indoors and out. Pets generally not allowed but may be approved on a case-by-case basis. IMPORTANT: TO AVOID THE 14% TRANSIENT OCCUPANCY TAX, YOU MUST BOOK FOR MINIMUM OF 31 DAYS.
