Use the screen doors to keep them off, and when possible, turn the lights off to keep them away.Since Clearlake is a natural lake with no inlets/outlets, the water can get low and muddy close to the edge during summer. However, if you paddle out, it gets nicer.This is the 3rd best known bass fishing spot in USA! Watch the lake activities at the luxury of your own deck and lower patio. Join in on a paddle from your own dock. You can drive your boat up when water level permits (nearest launch at nearby Clear Lake State Park, Kelseyville or Redbud Park, Clearlake).We provide inflatable stand up paddleboards free of charge but you will have to sign a waiver in order to use them.There are year round activities and festivals at Lakeport and Kelseyville. The house is serviced by nearby restaurants, supermarkets and gas stations.If you are driving from Bay Area, the best grocery store to load up on goodies is the Hardester Market, Middletown as they carry the best selection and has a great "To Go" section. They also have a great hardware section with baits & tackles and fishing / boating / lake supplies.
