This small but very efficient cabin has everything you need and is in the perfect location for exploring all that Bryson City, Cherokee, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park! The cabin is a one bedroom, one bath cabin with a cantilevered bunk room built-in to the living room space. As you approach the cabin and pull into the driveway you will notice the cabin was built specifically to blend right into the mountainside. After you have stretched you legs and taken a breath of fresh mountain air; head inside to your small mountain retreat! All necessary basic cooking items provided for you. MAIN FEATURES: Peaceful | Perfect Location between Bryson City and Cherokee | Mountain Modern Cabin | Polar ExpressGENERAL: Towels/Linens/Bedding Provided | hair dryer, central heat & air conditioning, wood burning fireplace in winter, ceiling fans in living room and one bedroom. As you enter the cabin through the front door you will see your spacious living room with 14 foot tall ceilings. You will notice the large picture window that brings the outside Mountain Laurel into the indoor setting giving a slight tree house feel to the cabin. There is seating for 5 in the living room along with a 55" TV, a gas wood stove for the winter months, and custom artwork created by Sarah. We love sharing all that this area has to offer and like our cabin to reflect the natural beauty of Western North Carolina. The kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances, motion activated sink faucet, granite countertops, and everything you will need to cook a meal while enjoying the Smoky Mountains! The bunk beds feature their own private sleeping quarters built right into the living room. Each bunk bed consists of a hybrid memory foam bed, super comfy, and plush pillows for a great nights rest. Each bunk has its own light and outlet as well. There is also a small laundry room with a washer and dryer along with a bathroom behind the kitchen wall. The bathroom includes a toilet, sink, and a custom shower with an extra large rain shower head and teak bench. The master bedroom is also large and spacious featuring a hybrid memory foam king bed, a 50" smart TV, a small closet with hangers and even more tree house style windows to bring in the natural setting. There are built in reading lights and a bedside lamp as well for peaceful and quiet evenings after putting the kiddos to bed. Outside, you will find the covered deck spacious enough and a relaxing spot to have a morning coffee and listen to the birds or an evening drink to wind down from a day of outdoor adventure in the Smokies! You can also take the rock pathway to the back of the cabin to the hot tub or to the fire pit. An evening of roasting marshmallows is of course highly recommended. Small, efficient, and in one of the best locations to explore the Smoky Mountains is what sets Mountain Laurel Hideaway apart! The best thing is all of the outdoor adventure of hiking, biking, rafting, waterfalls, etc; are just minutes away. Come and explore the Smoky Mountains with us! The cabin is in a mountain community called Ocona Lake Estates 5 miles from Bryson City and 5 miles from Cherokee NC. You will feel very secluded but close enough to town if you need something. We have a very strict 10mph speed limit in the neighborhood. Bryson City NC itself and the surrounding area is an outdoor adventurist's paradise. It has been named a top tourist destination in the United States and one of America's top small towns. My wife and I fell in love with this community when we visited a few years ago and love sharing it with our guests! Golfing, hiking, biking, kayaking, zip lines, tubing, rafting, relaxation, jeep tours, scenic rides, waterfalls, parks, fishing, boating and so much more are abundant here! It's home to the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad and makes a perfect home base for exploring Western North Carolina and the Great Smoky Mountains.
