The Incredible was an absolute hit with both children and adults alike and is still a firm favourite for many people, even 12 years on.

At the time of its release, it was met with high critical acclaim, won awards and made a staggering $633 million at the box office.

The Incredibles is a 2004 Disney pixar film that follows the lives of superhero couple, Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl, after they have been forced to live mundane lives, assuming the identities of Bob and Helen Parr. They both crave the superhero life, particularly Mr. Incredible and soon enough, they are given a reason to resume their previous roles in the form of Syndrome and an out-of-control robot.

With all that in mind, it only made sense that there was a sequel and after a few years of the possibility being teased at, it was finally announced that a second installment would be coming our way. The original date was June 21st 2019 – much to our disappointment and whilst it is no doubt worth the wait, we just didn’t want to wait that long.

Well, fans of The Incredibles will be pleased to hear that the release date has been brought forward and the highly-anticipated movie will be released on June 15th, 2018 – over a year earlier than we were expecting.

The two time Oscar winner Brad Bird will be back to direct The Incredibles 2, where we will finally see what the family have been up to since they beat Syndrome.

With the release date being brought forward, it has meant that the release date for the fourth Toy Story film has had to be sacrificed and the movie won’t be in cinemas until June 21st 2019 – the two films have swapped dates.

Toy Story and Toy Story 2 director John Lasseter will be back to update us on how Woody and the gang are doing living with Bonnie, so even though there is an extra year wait, we’re sure fans won’t mind too much.

With The Incredibles 2 still a year and a half away, at least we have the first installment, three Toy Story films and the rest of our Pixar collection to keep us occupied until then.
