We’ve all been there – when you’re at work, and all you feel like doing is going for a quick power nap.

But when your pay packet is being subsidised by the taxpayer, falling asleep on the job is surely out of the question.

Apparently not, for these public servants, as this shocking picture shows the moment they were caught napping in the House Of Lords.

The three peers appeared to have dozed off in the House, which is tasked with making and shaping UK laws.

The unbelievable pictures were taken by Denboba Natie on her mobile phone in the House Of Lords on July 9.

Denboba, who posted the pictures on Facebook, said: “How much tax payers are charged for such active and sleepy participation.

“UK’s House of Lords on July 09, 2015.

“I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw these pointless leeches and picked my phone to get this shot. What a tragic waste of public money. Alistair Darling is added to these parasites as a reward for his part in blocking the Scottish Independence. Gordon Brown will be added to this group very soon for his part as well.

“What a tragic waste of public resources!!”

Members of the House of Lords are not paid a salary, but are eligible to receive allowances, such as travel costs, for fulfilling their parliamentary duties.

However, they may claim a flat rate attendance allowance of £150 or £300 for each sitting day they attend in the House.

That’s not bad for a day’s work – I know what I want to be when I grow up: a sleepy Lord.
