Disney resorts are known as being the most popular places on Earth, but it turns out not all of the attractions launched by the world-renowned brand are a success.

Discovery Island was part of Walt Disney World – opening in 1974, sadly closing in 1999 – leaving it abandoned ever since.

The 11-acre island was located, and still stands today, in Bay Lake across from the Disney Wilderness Lodge – however 17 years on it looks extremely different.
