Ben Cartwright aka Lorne Greene: Then
Canadian Lorne Greene played the patriarch of the Cartwright clan, Ben Cartwright. But before working on Bonanza, Greene was best known as a reporter and the main radio announcer during World War II. The gloomy news that he announced during the war earned him the nickname “The Voice of Doom.”
